There are nine waiting lists for low-income housing that open across the country in the first week of July!
With the Fourth of July holiday nearing, waiting lists are opening for affordable rental housing on Monday only. These waiting lists will be open for Section 8 Vouchers, Project-Based Vouchers, Public Housing, and more.
These are the waiting lists opening between July 1–5, 2024:
Monterey County, California Section 8 Voucher Waiting List
Starting off with a large Section 8 program, the Housing Authority of the County of Monterey (HACM) is opening its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list for the first time since October 2017. Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2024, at 9:00 am until July 12, 2024, at 11:59 pm PT.
Interested applicants can find income limits on the HACM website. Although preferences have not yet been confirmed, the selection process involves placing 5,000 selected applicants on the waiting list by random lottery, according to the order of preferences.
