The Greater Metropolitan Area Housing Authority of Rock Island County (GMAHA) Senior (62+) Project-Based Voucher waiting list for apartments at Garfield School Senior Development, is currently open, from September 4, 2018, at 9:00 am CT, until further notice.

Please note: Garfield School Senior Development will not be ready for occupation until spring of 2019. Only 15 1-bedroom units will be available.

Heads of Household Characteristics

2% of households were headed by a person 24 years old or less, 62% were headed by a person 25 to 49 years old, 18% were headed by a person 51 to 60 years old, and 18% were headed by a person 62 years old or older. In addition, 1% of households were headed by a person 85 years old or older.

60% of households included children, 3% of which had two adults in the household. 58% of households with children have a female head of household. 87% of all households were headed by a female.

56% of all voucher households were headed by minorities with 46% of all heads of households being Black and 1% being Hispanic.
