The King County Housing Authority (KCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from February 12, 2020, until February 25, 2020. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

  • Homeless.
  • Live in substandard-condition housing.
  • Pay more than 50 percent of your household income on rent and utilities.
  • Household income at or below 30 percent of AMI.

2,500 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
